This past year I switched to SmugMug after years of using Flickr. My photos look gorgeous, the gallery interface is beautiful and easy to use, and the company is the paragon of photo sharing websites – and hands down beats most services on the web.

Its hard for a website to attract users, but almost impossible to create a passionate following like SmugMug. When everything else is free on the web, SmugMug charges for accounts, and the service is worth every penny. I’ll gladly keep paying the membership fees. More web companies should think about providing a great service rather then attracting users. Build a great service, the users will come.

And just to show they are cooler then any other web site, Smug Mug sent me a free neck strap. I heart SmugMug.
