Pedal for Pooches 2009
On Saturday, 4.25.2009, we volunteered for the Pedal for Pooches bike tour to benefit the Briggs Animal Adoption Center. Briggs is a humane – no kill – adoption center. We have been volunteering on the weekends. I walk the dogs and play with them. My wife goes in to the “catery” – a large room with almost 100 cats. I’m allergic and stay out of the room, but she goes in and plays laser pointer for hours.
They have an annual bike tour that takes riders around 36 miles of beautiful back roads. We were setup at mile maker 4. Tasked with handing out bananas and water; we supported the bike riders in the 90 degree heat. I was able to take some photos of the riders when I was not stopping traffic, cheering and handing out water. Next year, I plan to spend more time taking photos of the riders.
